ADDICTION RC RX-01 Drift Car Chassis Kit AD-RX01

After establishing itself as one of the leading manufacturers of highly detailed RC bodies, ADDICTION RC Design has announced the RX-01, its first in-house RWD drift chassis developed to recreate the construction and driving characteristics of a full-size drift car.

Based on the Nissan S13 Silvia platform, the RX-01 features a realistic strut front suspension, multi-link rear suspension, and a monocoque chassis combined with a full member-frame structure inspired by real automotive engineering. Rather than chasing outright competition performance, every aspect of the chassis has been designed to replicate the feeling of driving a real car.

The RX-01 is aimed at enthusiasts who value driving technique, scale realism, and authentic vehicle behaviour over lap times. By closely reproducing the suspension geometry and movement of a full-size vehicle, the chassis delivers a uniquely immersive RC drifting experience.

One of the first things that stands out when the RX-01 hits the track is its sound. The chassis produces a distinctive, race-inspired gear whine that echoes around the circuit, giving it a mechanical character rarely found in RC drift cars. Combined with its realistic chassis layout, the sound adds another layer of immersion, reinforcing the philosophy that driving enjoyment extends beyond steering feel alone.

The RX-01 also features an adjustable wheelbase, allowing compatibility with a wide range of 1/10 scale bodies. Using optional centre driveshafts, the wheelbase can be configured between 240mm and 280mm, including support for every model in ADDICTION’s Real Detail Body Series and High Detail Body Series, excluding the Yaris.

Another standout feature is the full member-frame construction - the first of its kind on a drift RC chassis. Beyond enhancing scale realism, the design improves serviceability while faithfully recreating the appearance of a full-size vehicle beneath the body shell.

While the RX-01’s engineering makes it feel like a niche platform built for realism enthusiasts, early impressions suggest it performs alongside more conventional drift chassis while offering an entirely different driving experience. Its scale-inspired construction also means assembly and setup are more involved than a typical RC drift platform, making it especially rewarding for hobbyists who enjoy building, tuning, and understanding the mechanics behind their cars.

Ultimately, the RX-01 isn’t about chasing the fastest lap or the highest steering angle. While realism is at the heart of its design, early prototype testing has shown it can run alongside established competition chassis without sacrificing capability. Instead, it’s about recreating the engineering, character, and driving experience of a full-size drift car in 1/10 scale. For enthusiasts who value realism as much as performance, the RX-01 offers one of the most immersive and unique RC drift experiences available today.

The RX-01 RC Chassis as well as High Detail Bodies and Real Detail Bodies are available on our Addiction RC collections page.

Chassis only, wheels are not included. To complete the chassis, users will need a 380-size motor (MerV-ERA 380 recommended), ESC, gyro, steering servo, transmitter and receiver, shorty LiPo battery, body, wheels and tyres, and a cooling fan.
