What is Spec-S?

Spec-S is the perfect upgrade for stock turbo setups and "Boost-up" (stock setup with increased boost) specifications. This entry-level model not only improves cooling performance for sports driving, but also considers vehicle performance when replacing the original part in a normal specification. Reduced pressure loss equates to improved response. While ensuring the response performance required by boost-up users, the inner offset fins achieve stable intake air temperature, without compromising response, and the general feeling of the stock setup.

Relationship between pressure loss and cooling efficiency

To improve cooling performance, more air needs to be retained inside the intercooler tubes. Air flow over the tube fins is necessary whilst moving, however, simply increasing the size of the tube and thus the amount of stagnant air will also increase the pressure loss. This causes a decrease in response. Conversely, it is better to avoid letting too much air stagnate in the tube. If passed through, cooling performance will decrease, and only the response will improve due to the reduction in pressure loss.

From the above, it can be concluded that pressure loss and cooling efficiency are inversely related. For extreme products, the question is whether to prioritize responsiveness or cooling. You need to choose appropriately based on the driving conditions and the specifications you require.
