As you can see, the stock transmission mounts for the Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ have enough play that they can easily be moved with the force of your hands. Even during normal driving, such as accelerating and decelerating, the transmission itself moves, making it difficult to shift gears. This problem becomes even more noticeable during sports driving, where a large amount of force is applied to the vehicle's movement, and it can have a major impact on tactics in time attacks and races where every fraction of a second counts.
By inserting this "mount spacer" into the factory mount, you can reduce unnecessary movement of the transmission. This reduces the difficulty of shifting and prevents mis-shifting while driving. The shift feeling is also crisper, allowing for smoother gear changes. (The color of the product has been changed in the image on the left to make it easier to see, but the actual product is black.)
The Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ uses a rubber bush at the joint between the genuine transmission and the shift lever retainer, which transmits slight vibrations from the transmission to the shift lever.
By replacing it with this "Shift Lever Retainer Collar," you can reduce unnecessary movement transmitted to the shift lever. When used in combination with this "Mount Spacer," you can maximize the original performance of your shift lever, allowing for stable shifting in any situation.
