HKS CAMSHAFT [STEP 2] - Exhaust 264°
To suit Nissan SR20DE(T) for Silvia S13 / S14 / S15 / 180SX
Specifications:
- Duration: 264°
- Valve Lift: 12.0
- Lobe Centerline Angle: 114°
Remarks:
Following the success of our STEP1 cam, which has been praised as "the strongest bolt-on cam ever," we have also renewed STEP2/3, which are necessary for those aiming for higher RPMs and higher power. With the latest profile design, we have thoroughly compared and tested our products against not only our conventional products but also those of our competitors, and we are confident that this product will be brought to market. Experience the overwhelming performance. *STEP3 only changes the valve timing.
STEP 2:
The increased lift will result in even greater power output compared to the SS-CAM. However, this will require replacing the valve springs with reinforced ones (and for the RB26, piston recess machining and cylinder head relief machining).
- For both STEP2 and STEP3, the assumed engine is one that produces 450 horsepower or more and requires the REV limit to be raised to 8000rpm/9000rpm.
- Our conventional products, as well as our competitors' products, have undergone thorough comparative testing to achieve the highest performance.
- The results demonstrate improved performance from 6,000 rpm to 6,500 rpm and beyond compared to the "strongest bolt-on cam ever," (STEP1) and it is particularly effective when combined with a large turbocharger.
What HKS considers a high-performance camshaft to be
A cam that smoothly takes in and expels a large amount of air. In other words, it ensures that the valve performs a precise reciprocating motion under any circumstances.
- Overwhelming power at high RPMs
- Throttle response at Low to Medium speeds
- Idling stability
The pursuit of the cam's original function. That's HKS's commitment to high-performance cams.
The development concept that HKS has always had in mind when releasing camshafts to the world is, naturally, to create camshafts that truly satisfy the customers who use them. However, this is not as easy as it sounds. The answer that HKS arrived at after pursuing a concrete solution is "the pursuit of the camshaft's original function (how to smoothly take in and expel as much air as possible into the cylinder) = a high-performance camshaft."
Things that can only be done through true "in-house" production:
HKS's commitment to in-house manufacturing isn't simply about creating everything from start to finish within the company. It's about designing from scratch with original ideas, rather than relying on designs from the original equipment manufacturer. Furthermore, throughout the entire process (design, processing, testing, and production), they repeatedly redesign based on testing results, faithfully feeding those findings back into production. This is because, as a pioneer in aftermarket parts manufacturing, they understand that this is absolutely essential to creating products that truly satisfy their customers, and that it's impossible to achieve this without it.
