SINGLE DISC Clutch: A High Utility Clutch Series
This clutch was developed based on feedback gathered from race support, incorporating ORC’s expertise in design. Since its release, the clutch technology has been praised by users for being “easy to ride.”
Designed for lightly tuned cars, the high-performance single clutch comes in two models: the 309 and 409 Series, depending on the vehicle. We have achieved excellent pedal feel, reliable torque transmission, and offer these clutches at a competitive price. Our lineup includes a variety of options to fit different needs, such as a silent type to reduce backlash noise, a damper-less type for enhanced response, and a high-torque disc version.
SE Mechanism
The SE (Smart Engagement) Mechanism is an option that can be added to the pressure plate for ORC Metal Series Clutches. This mechanism reduces clutch shock by approximately 40%, improving half clutch performance. The SE mechanism is highly recommended for those who's vehicles share a balance of sports and city driving.
- Protects the drive system : Reduces shock torque during gear changes and clutch engagement, reducing strain on the transmission, drive shafts, and other drive system components.
- Improved Half-Clutch Performance : By increasing the half-clutch range and reducing judder (vibration), a milder feel is achieved that is easy to handle even for those who have just obtained their license.
- Excellent durability : Because it uses a metal disc, it maintains the original advantage of a metal clutch, which is that it is less likely to heat up even during harsh sports driving.
- Direct Response : Lightweight clutch ensures direct response from the engine

Optional Silent Damper
ORC Utilize a "Lug Drive" type clutch for their Metal and Carbon Series. This method transmits torque by utilizing a one piece clutch cover with integral drive lugs that hook onto the input shaft, which is favored among racing clutches for it's lower inertia and heat dissipation, improving clutch feeling and prolonging life. However, due to this method's "mechanical" nature, when the clutch pedal is pressed, the pressure plate is released and contacts the connecting shaft, creating a backlash "rattle".
The quiet-type clutch is designed to reduce this noise. It incorporates springs on the flywheel side of the clutch and minimizing the backlash in the pressure plate. However, it’s important to note that this is not a completely silent system—the noise is reduced but not eliminated.

Which Clutch Cover to use?
When using the standard cover, the clutch pedal force is close to that of the stock clutch (26.5lbf / 12kgf), reducing fatigue during extended periods of driving. When using the high pressure cover, the pedal force is set to about 30% higher than the stock pedal force. On average, the other ORC series clutches are set the same way. Other companies’ general reinforced clutches have the same pedal force as when using the high pressure HP cover.
*Certain Damper / SE / Cover combinations may not be offered depending on the model
*Repair parts for all clutch kits are available upon email inquiry.
